Finnish Business Confidence Slightly Down
Finnish manufacturing confidence indicator scored -4 (revised figure -2 in October). Confidence is slightly below its long-term average (+1). Production is expected to increase slowly but order books are still below normal. Stocks of final goods stayed close to normal levels.
Confidence in the Finnish construction sector declined somewhat in November. The latest confidence indicator figure is -7 (-2 in October). Confidence is currently close to its long-term average (-8). Order books are slightly below normal but workforce is expected to stay rather stable.
The confidenceindicator in services stood at +12 points in November (+14 in October). The indicator is almost at its long-term average (+13). The overall business situation has continued to improve gradually. Some further increase in sales volumes is expected.
The retail trade confidence indicator decreased in November. It scored -8 points(-2 in October). The long-term average is -2. Sales fi gures have turned slightly down during the last few months. Some decrease is predicted for the winter season, too.
